NEW HEBRON BAPTIST CHURCH -- a Timeless Traditional Worship Service in a Sacred Place built 118 years ago

NEW HEBRON BAPTIST CHURCH MEETS ON THE 3rd SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 3 P.M.

New Hebron Baptist Church is a member of the

Southern Baptist Convention; the Georgia Baptist Convention; and the Flint River Baptist Association.

The church is not owned by an individual, but is a church and is operated by the church membership under the spiritual leadership of the church pastor, which is the Baptist tradition.

New Hebron Baptist Church has no electronics.

At New Hebron, you will worship in the tradition of your ancestors who played musical instruments; lifted their voices in song; studied from the Bible; were taught from the sermon; and participated in corporate worship

in a sweet fellowship of Christians.

You Are Welcome atFlint River Chapel and New Hebron Baptist

The New Hebron Baptist Church roots go back to 1833 when Concord Primitive Baptist was formed in the village of Hard Head. Hard Head was the original name of what became Concord, chartered in 1887 by the Georgia Assembly. Old Hebron had been chartered in 1838. New Hebron Baptist was formally organized in 1907 with 31 charter members and by 1929, the church had grown to 99 members. The church was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017. This charming sanctuary in the backwoods of Pike County has served the local community for over 118 years.

The Flint River Chapel is not your ordinary church. The church was established to provide a modern worship service modeled after the early church. Acts 2:42-27 describes the early church. The scripture passage starts by saying that the first Christians “continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers” (Acts 2:42, NKJV). Flint River Chapel meets to worship: to hear the teaching of the scriptures and to share a meal together. The chapel worship services do not use electronics or modern technology that could possibly be distractions in worship.
